WordCraft Report Template
This free WordCraft report template helps you prepare a short project update in an editable DOCX file. Start with a summary, record progress and evidence, explain risks or decisions and assign next steps. Download the original, customize the prompts and export a separate PDF when you need a reading copy.

The document contains a summary, progress and findings, risks and decisions, next steps, and sources and notes. It works as a compact project update rather than a long research paper. All content is a prompt for your own information; there are no invented project results to preserve.
The preview below was rendered from this exact downloadable DOCX. Version 1.0 uses US Letter paper, Arial 11-point body text and black headings. It has no macros, form fields or account requirement. Both English and Chinese detail pages provide the same English-language file; you can replace its wording with your own language after opening it.

Set the project name, reporting period and author before drafting. The summary should explain the current status and the response you need from the reader. Under progress and findings, separate completed work from outstanding work. Add dates or supporting links when they help another person check a statement; do not present an estimate as a confirmed result.
The risks and decisions section asks you to identify an obstacle, its effect and an action. Remove the decision paragraph if no decision is needed. Give each next step an owner and a target date, then replace the sources prompt with the documents or observations used in the report. These prompts are examples, so adapt the headings to your project instead of filling a section that adds no value.
How to Use This Template
- 1
Download a clean copy
Choose Download DOCX and locate the file on your device. Your browser may save it to Downloads or ask you to choose a folder. Keep this original as a backup before adding personal information.
- 2
Open and customize
Open WordCraft and wait for the ribbon and document area. Choose File > Open and select the downloaded file. Replace the prompts and review the layout as you edit. This button opens the workspace; it does not automatically import the template.
- 3
Save and check
Choose File > Save As for an editable DOCX copy. Locate the download and reopen it to confirm the changes. To create a reading copy, use File > Export > PDF document (*.pdf), then inspect the downloaded PDF separately.
Before You Send It
Check that the summary agrees with the detailed findings. A reader should be able to tell what happened during the reporting period and what still needs attention. Confirm owners and dates with the people responsible, and open supporting links before distributing the document. The template supplies a structure; it does not validate measurements or certify compliance with an organization’s reporting rules.
Review page breaks after adding evidence or longer explanations. The original is one page, but a useful report may need more space. Keep headings with the paragraphs they introduce and remove any unused instructions. Save the edited DOCX for the next update. If you export PDF, review every page of that separate file, including the sources and final action items.
WordCraft is in alpha. Our checks cover these simple original templates, not every document layout or font. If the saved result differs from your draft, return to the backup and check it in the application your recipient will use. Save your work before closing the browser; an account is not a cloud document backup.
Template Questions
Is this template free to download and edit?
Yes. WordCraft Online created this template and permits you to download, edit and use it in your personal or commercial documents without payment or an account. This permission covers the template file, not third-party software or trademarks.
Can I expand the report beyond one page?
Yes. Add paragraphs or new sections when they help the reader. The preview represents the original one-page version, not a page limit. Check headings and page breaks after editing and keep a DOCX copy for future updates.
Is the Chinese page a Chinese DOCX download?
No. The detail page is translated, but version 1.0 of the DOCX is in English. Replace its headings and prompts with your own language after opening it. Review the layout when changing text length or fonts.
