About
About WordCraft Online
WordCraft Online is an independent website that lets anyone use the open-source WordCraft word processor in a web browser, for free and without an account.
Who Runs This Site
WordCraft Online is operated independently from Germany. It is not operated, sponsored or endorsed by the ArtCraft team, Microsoft or any other company.

This website provides the browser entry point and supporting pages. The ArtCraft team develops the WordCraft application; questions about this hosting service and questions about the editor itself may therefore need different support channels. Our name identifies this independent online service and does not imply that we are the official WordCraft project.
The Editor Behind It
The editor is based on WordCraft, an open-source word processor written in Rust by the ArtCraft team and contributors. We host version 0.5.0 independently, with a small addition for optional anonymous processing statistics.
WordCraft is dual-licensed under MIT or Apache-2.0. Full notices are on our licenses page.
About WordCraft Online, the key distinction is the application versus the hosting service. The editor runs from a versioned web build, while this website supplies navigation, documentation and optional authentication around it. Our current browser checks cover opening, editing and saving DOCX and exporting PDF. They do not certify every format, device or complex document layout.
What We Add
The public guides explain the workflow we offer today. The download page points to official desktop releases instead of presenting our web bundle as a desktop installer. The template overview explains built-in editor choices; it does not claim a separate downloadable template library. Optional AI writing and document generation remain planned features, not tools currently available in the editor.
- Fast, reliable hosting of the browser editor.
- Guides, comparisons and download help in English and Chinese.
- Optional accounts, and in the future optional AI writing features billed separately from free editing.
Files, Accounts and Free Editing
Basic editing does not require an account. The browser editor reads the document you select on your device and saves an edited copy as a download. Creating or signing into an account does not create a cloud document library or back up an open document. Save your work before closing or refreshing the workspace, and keep an unchanged original when testing a new editor.
The website and its account features have separate data handling from the document editor. Read our privacy policy for account and service information. If future AI services process text on a server, their scope and terms will need to be explained when they become available. The free editing workflow described here does not include those planned services.
Support for WordCraft Online
For a website, login or loading problem, contact support@wordcraftonline.app. Describe the page you were using, your browser and operating system, what you expected and what happened. Mention whether the issue also occurs with the public sample document. You do not need to send a personal document to explain a basic loading problem.
Keep passwords, verification codes and private document content out of an initial support message. If a screenshot helps, remove information you do not want to share. For a reproducible editor problem, the official WordCraft project is the source for application issues and release updates; use a harmless example when reporting a document-specific issue.
WordCraft is in alpha. Before relying on it for important work, test a duplicate of your document, download the edited result and reopen it in the application your recipient uses. We publish our current scope and limitations so you can decide whether this workflow fits your task.
